Creating this woodland ceremony space was an awesome opportunity to put our planner skills to the test and be problem solvers! We had initially planned to create the space with a beautiful arbor, however, on the day of the shoot, learned it had been double booked. Our backup plan was to use a tree as the backdrop, with fabric hanging over a branch. Unfortunately, the trees were too tall to accommodate this, so we moved on to Plan C – and we are in love with the result! To bring in the jewel tones, we hung crystals on magenta and navy velvet ribbon in the trees. To further define the aisle, we laid fabric along the ground, scattered petals, and finally, lined it with different sized candles in both ivory and magenta. To create the altar, we hung fabric on two trees, making a “natural arbor” tied with deep navy fabric. Our design was finished with the addition of modern white chairs with an intricate design. Pulling in details from each of our vignettes, like the magenta velvet from the sweetheart table, navy bows from the reception table, and the woodsy atmosphere of the cocktail area, the style of the ceremony represented the shoot beautifully.
