The Prairie Glass House has one of the oldest oak trees in the state, so we knew we wanted to feature it. When deciding where to place the cocktail lounge, there was the perfect clearing in front of the tree, just begging for some gorgeous furniture. We started with the pieces from Something Old Event Rentals, and then added in some furniture we borrowed from photographer friends, to create two distinct seating areas. We placed the bar off to the side with a view of the mansion directly behind it. The art-deco inspired piece was brought to life with a liquor display, bar accessories, and floral accents. To finish off the look, we added navy glassware. We wanted to round out the space, so we set up a gorgeous guestbook table display right in front of that historic tree. The crisp gold of the dresser really stood out against the tree, a lovely juxtaposition between ornate and natural textures. It made just the statement we were hoping for! On the table, we included a “cards” box, an emerald velvet guestbook, candles, rich florals, and tasty macarons. With each of these three spaces, we achieved an intimate cocktail lounge, perfect for a glamorous wedding.
