Today begins our jewel-toned styled shoot series, where we’ll give you an in-depth look into each of our vignettes. To start, we’re showing you one of our favorite reception tables to date. In order to maintain cohesion throughout the shoot, we chose three main elements: jewel tones, velvet, and fruit. For the reception table, we started with a velvet runner from La Tavola Linen in the most beautiful blue-jade tone. From there, we stacked plates in golds and silvers, then added vintage cutlery from Avant Modern and navy blue napkins. To create a bolder look, we draped navy blue fabric over the champagne Chiavari chairs from Herriotts, finished off with a cobalt velvet bow. The centerpieces were our “wow” factor! Candice Hart, owner of Pollen and Pastry, created stunning compote arrangements, complete with fresh fruit and deep, rich florals. We then went to work filling gaps in the runner with navy candles and copious amounts of fruit, including grapes, pomegranates, berries, and pears. To finish the table off, we did a couple DIY projects. First, we spray painted chandeliers in a high gloss navy to match the napkins and chairs; then, spray painted vintage glass ashtrays to hold our favors: vividly dyed macarons from the ever talented Sugar by Sarah. The addition of the magenta, teal, and navy macarons gave the place settings a subtle pop of color. This statement table was a perfect marriage of rich color and texture!
